How we work out your area
Your council decides what your other options cost. The price of a collection and the recycling centres you can use both change at the council boundary rather than at the town sign. So does whether you have to book a slot, and whether your van needs a permit. Grouping the areas this way means the advice you get is the advice that applies where you live.

We cover the five councils of Tyne and Wear as a matter of course, which is Gateshead, Newcastle, Sunderland, North Tyneside and South Tyneside. Our yard is on Ropery Road in Gateshead, which sits roughly in the middle of all of them, so nowhere on this page is a long run for us. We do go further for some jobs, so please ask rather than assuming we will not come.
Only a little, and for most of Tyne and Wear it makes almost no difference. Your price is worked out mainly from how many van loads your things fill. Travel is the second part of it, and because we are so central the travel part stays small. Stairs, back lanes and how long the job takes us do not change the price at all.

We often can, so send your photos early in the day. If you accept the price and we have a slot free, we will come out the same day. It depends on what is already booked in, so it is not something we can promise for every job.
No, we do not need to visit. Photos of each room, or of the pile if it is a rubbish removal, are enough for us to work out a fixed price. A person looks at them and replies. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
